The association of whaling with any kind of scientific activity is simply not possible for it represents a severe offense to the entire world scientific community.

Pétition en ligne, Etymologie du terme "recherche" et activités baleinières illégales des Japonais

L'association des mots "recherche scientifique" et pêche à la baleine, activité illégale pratiquée par certains pecheurs japonais peu scrupuleux des réglementations internationales n'est pas compatible et représente une offense grave à la communauté scientifique internationale.
A défaut de contraindre par la force l'arrêt de cette activité reconnue comme illégale par la cour de justice internationale de la Haye, comme cela devrait pourtant l'être, l'arrêt de l'association du concept de recherche scientifique avec l'activité de braconnage de baleine serait bénéfique pour les générations futures de scientifiques qui ne veulent plus que l'image de leur métier soit ainsi ternie et dépravée.
